My artistic goals continue to be challenging. I strive to develop an innovative, personal style of painting that might be labeled ‘spontaneous control’. I play with color and texture and line, not so much to illustrate an idea but to create, in the end, a painting that is fresh and exciting.
Colleen is a full time abstract expressionist who brings her passion and a meditative experience with every piece. Her paintings have grown as an extension of her history as an illustrator and designer. With each piece, she is presented with a myriad of decisions, and intuitively brings her emotional response to the painting with each brush stroke.
Colleen refined her inherent artistic talents by attending Montgomery College in Rockville, MD. She has since shown her work in Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Frederick, MD., and has work in permanent collections throughout the United States.
Clients include: Simon and Schuster, the National Institute of Health, C. Burr Artz Library, Author Nora Roberts, and the City of Frederick.
